Understanding Hypnosis

  • We spend 90 % of our day in a state of hypnosis
  • Hypnosis is a gate way to our sub-conscious mind
  • Theta brain waves are activated when we are in a state of hypnosis
  • Theta is important for processing information and making memories, when we are in theta brainwave state, we can create positive change
  • Stress, some medication and lack of quality sleep may disrupt our natural cycle of theta brainwaves
  • The sub-conscious mind does not understand the difference between
    reality and thought.
  • If you can imagine it, you can create it so imagine drifting off to sleep is often a good way to fall asleep.

HOW to connect with hypnosis

  • Focus on breathing and on words with the sound ‘L’ such as Relax, Calm, Tranquil, Peaceful
  • When the tongue touches the roof of the mouth it sends messages to the brain and stimulates it to go into a state of hypnosis
  • Listening to gentle calming music can also take us on a hypnotic journey
  • The sub-conscious mind loves habit so with repeated practice you will find it easier to connect
  • If we practice giving our sub-conscious an intention, we can create new habits
